DESCRIPTION:On 17–18 March 2027\, the Interreg Wildfire CE project invit
 es researchers to a two-day scientific conference at TU Dresden. The event
 \, building upon the success of the Fire in Central European Ecosystems Co
 nference 2025\, will bring together experts from across Central and Northe
 rn Europe to exchange knowledge on current and emerging wildfire challenge
 s from interdisciplinary scientific perspectives. The conference will also
  present key scientific findings and practical outcomes from the Wildfire 
 CE project\, highlighting their relevance to wider wildfire research and p
 ractice. The symposium will be organised around three thematic tracks refl
 ecting the breadth of contemporary wildfire research.\nThese include: \nWi
 ldfire Science\, Fire Behaviour\, and Predictive Modelling\, focusing fire
  weather\, fuel dynamics\, wildfire monitoring and modelling\, and climate
 -driven changes in fire regimes.\nWildfire impacts on ecosystems\, landsca
 pes\, biodiversity\, and ecosystem services\, as well as post-fire recover
 y\, disturbance dynamics\, monitoring\, silviculture\, and future landscap
 e management.\nSociety\, Risk Governance\, and Adaptation\, examining risk
  perception\, communication\, land-use change\, governance structures\, po
 licy frameworks\, adaptation planning\, and cross-border cooperation.\nIn 
 addition to these thematic tracks\, the conference will highlight several 
 cross-cutting themes that span all areas of wildfire research\, including 
 climate change\, resilience\, adaptation\, interdisciplinary integration\,
  and decision-support systems. Particular emphasis will be placed on under
 standing how these themes influence wildfire risk across physical\, ecolog
 ical\, and societal systems\, and how integrated approaches can support mo
 re effective risk reduction and management.\nTogether\, these tracks and c
 ross-cutting themes reflect the interdisciplinary nature of wildfire scien
 ce and its growing relevance under changing climatic and socio-economic co
 nditions. The symposium aims to foster dialogue across disciplines\, linki
 ng physical science\, ecological understanding\, and societal perspectives
  to support integrated approaches to wildfire risk and resilience.\nPartic
 ipants are invited to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations u
 nder one of the three thematic tracks above. Contributions from other regi
 ons are warmly welcomed to provide comparative and international perspecti
 ves. Further details regarding registration\, programme structure\, and se
 ssion organisation will be provided in due course. The conference is free 
 of charge \, and abstracts can be submitted between 1st September and 31s
