Submission deadline
On 17–18 March 2027, the Interreg Wildfire CE project invites researchers to submit abstracts for a two-day scientific conference on current and emerging wildfire challenges in Central and Northern Europe. The conference will showcase advances in wildfire science, including fire behaviour, modelling, monitoring, ecosystem impacts, and the interactions between wildfire, land use, and society. Contributions addressing governance, adaptation, and comparative international perspectives are also welcome.
Please align your abstract with 1 or more of the Thematic Tracks below;
Track 1. Wildfire Science, Behaviour, Monitoring and Modelling
Track 2. Impacts of wildfires
Track 3. Fire and society
Please refer to the Scientific Programme for a more detailed thematic breakdown of these tracks.
Abstracts may be submitted for either oral or poster presentations. The conference is free of charge.
Abstracts should be no longer that 500 words
Oral presentation should be no longer 10-12 minutes long. Time allocated is 15 minutes, Please allow at least 3 minutes for questions. Please choose the track to which your presentation most closely aligns.
Posters should be ISO/DIN A1 - 594 × 841 mm (59.4 × 84.1 cm).
Poster presentations will take place on the 17th March (first day of the conference) and remain mounted for the 2nd day as well.
Abstracts open on the 1st September and submission deadline is 31 October 2026.
